Toby Marion

Toby Marion is Director and co-owner of Golden Gate Wine Co. Ltd. – a Hong Kong company which from 2004 has been importing 88 brands and over 400 wines from California, Oregon and Washington to HK, Macau and mainland China. Known as the “Home of Fine American Wine,” Golden Gate Wine is The American Wine Specialist and offers the largest American wine portfolio in the region.

Toby began his Asian career in 1971 as a science and engineering teacher in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan. Nearly 25 years with Caltex Oil followed, with technical and senior executive roles in the US and Asia.

In 1999, Toby co-founded Hong Kong’s first logistics and supply chain consulting company, LCP Asia. In 2002 he became President and CEO, Asia Pacific, for Thomas Group Inc, a NASDAQ company specializing in business implementation and strategy.

Toby holds a BS (Engineering) from Cornell University, an MS in Chemical Engineering from MIT and GDBA from the University of Sydney.

Toby is married to Eileen with two grown children, a son who is a partner in a software firm in Silicon Valley and a daughter who is an attorney in Washington, D.C. An avid tennis player, he also enjoys golf, sailing and of course wine. He has currently the Chairman of the HK Country Club General Committee and is a Governor of the Board of The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. He also serves on the Board of the California Association for China and Hong Kong.
